The member-owned, map-based exploration guide, promotes tourism-related establishments and attractions within the Ugu region. Together with our formal partners in tourism, the Southern Explorer Association (SEA) profiles and promotes the South Coast as the most popular domestic and growing international tourist destination in South Africa.

Overwhelming support for the product has seen us spreading our wings and welcoming new members to the Southern Explorer family. SEA is now truly representative of the whole Ugu region, with our membership base extending from Illovo to the Wild Coast Casino, and inland to Harding and Ingeli.

Support from members, and more importantly tourists, has ensured that the Southern Explorer is now recognised by all major tourism stakeholders as the official tourism route guide for the South Coast. Tourism KwaZulu-Natal (TKZN) recognises SEA as a bona fide community tourism organisation, and regards it as a key partner in their efforts to market the province. Moral and financial support from TKZN and the Ugu Tourism Marketing Association has contributed to the success of this product, and for this we are thankful.

SEA has extended its product base this year with the publication of the South Coast Travel Companion and the Golf Coast brochure. Both members and users of these products will benefit from the economies of scale afforded by the inclusion of these new publications into the Southern Explorer stable.
